If you are selling products in bundles and individually at the same time, you can make use of our Sync Rules function to ensure that your inventory is synced correctly!

Step 1: Navigate to the Sync Rules page and add a new rule:

A new rule can be added by clicking on the “Add New Rule” button on the top right corner.

Step 2: Enter the parent/base SKU

The parent/base SKU of the rule is the SKU of the bundle that you are selling. The items in the bundle are referred to as the children SKU.

Say for example, you sell a bundle of shirts and also sell the shirts within the set individually:

Amazing Shirts Bundle (SKU: ABC111), includes the following:

• 1 x The Best Shirt - Red (SKU: ABC001)

• 1 x The Best Shirt - Blue (SKU: ABC002)

• 2 x The Best Shirt - Purple (SKU: ABC003)

In this case the parent/base SKU is ABC111, and the children SKUs involved are ABC001, ABC002 and ABC003.

Step 3: Enter the formula for the children SKU

Continuing our example from the last step, the formula we require will be the following:

ABC111 = (1 X ABC001) + (1 X ABC002) + (2 X ABC003)

The formula can then be implemented as a rule as shown in the image below. Click on the “Push New Rule” button for the rule to be saved.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Each SKU can be involved in only one rule at any time. This means that all SKUs can be only EITHER a parent/base OR child SKU, and only once. All parent/base SKUs cannot be used as a child SKU in another rule, and vice versa.

After the rule is created, whenever 1 unit of ABC111 is sold, 1 unit of ABC001, 1 unit of ABC002 and 2 units of ABC003 will be reduced from stock.

Consequently, if any of the children SKU gets sold individually, the inventory number of the parent/base SKU (the bundle), will be reduced accordingly.

Step 4: Push and check the rules

After pushing the rules to EMMA, return to the Inventory Overview page. If there are any irregularities in the inventory numbers with respect to the rules you just pushed, a pop-up will show the errors. After fixing the errors, the rules are now in place and will be activated whenever a new order comes in or when you change inventory numbers on EMMA.

For our example, the correct quantity for the parent/base SKU ABC111 is 50, according to the formula. Enter the correct quantity and click on the “Push New Quantities” button.
