Sync Shopee and Lazada inventory
This is the pairing almost every Singapore marketplace seller starts with, and the one that produces the most oversells, because both platforms run overlapping campaigns and neither will ever tell the other what it just sold.
Why this pairing goes wrong
Shopee and Lazada compete for the same buyers on the same dates. When 11.11 or a payday sale lands, both channels see a spike within the same hour. If your stock figure is maintained by hand, or on an hourly sync, that hour is exactly when it goes wrong.
What trips people up
- Both lock campaign stock, differently
- Commit stock to a Shopee or Lazada campaign and that quantity cannot be pushed below the commitment. EMMA knows this and flags the affected SKUs rather than letting the update fail silently while you assume it worked.
- Different quantity conventions per channel
- Plenty of sellers list singles on Shopee and multipacks on Lazada, because the platforms reward different price points. Sync rules handle that: link the multipack to the single with a multiplier and both stay correct.
- Multiple shops on one marketplace
- If you run two Shopee storefronts or two Lazada shops, each is its own channel in EMMA and all of them draw down the same stock.
- Both authorisations expire
- Shopee and Lazada both time out their access periodically. EMMA warns you seven days before, and for Lazada it checks the live Service Marketplace subscription first so it does not cry wolf.
