Sync Shopee and Shopify inventory
Your Shopify store is the channel you control and Shopee is the one with the traffic. Running both means the same stock is exposed to a marketplace campaign and to your own marketing at the same time.
Why this pairing goes wrong
The failure mode here is asymmetric. A Shopee campaign can clear your shelf in an afternoon while your own store keeps advertising the same units, and your own-store customers are the ones you least want to disappoint, because you paid to acquire them.
What trips people up
- Shopify tracks inventory only if you tell it to
- Inventory tracking is off by default on many Shopify products, and a product with tracking off cannot be synced. This catches more sellers than any other setup issue.
- One Shopify location
- EMMA syncs a single Shopify inventory location per account. If you have several, pick the one that represents genuinely sellable stock. Multi-location is not supported today.
- Variants need their own SKUs
- Matching is by SKU, not product title, because your Shopify titles and your Shopee titles will never be identical. Every variant needs a unique, non-empty SKU on both sides.
- Both push in real time
- Shopee and Shopify are both webhook-driven, so this pairing is as fast as EMMA gets: a sale on either side reaches the other within seconds.
